1. Who we are

GEM Information Systems (Pty) Ltd, trading as GEMIS Technical Academy, is the data controller for personal information collected through gemis.tech and our training programmes.

2. What we collect

Name, email, phone number, organisation, programme of interest, and any details you submit through our forms (registration of interest, scoping, consultation requests). We do not collect special-category data.

3. Why we collect it

To respond to your enquiry or process your booking.
To issue vouchers, certificates and tax invoices.
To notify you about confirmed event dates you've registered interest in.

4. POPIA compliance

GEMIS complies with the South African Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA, Act 4 of 2013). You may withdraw consent, request access to your data, or ask us to delete it at any time — see the Data Request page.

5. How we store your data

Records are stored on secure South African hosting with encryption at rest. Marketing email lists are managed in FluentCRM. Payment data is handled by Yoco and never touches our servers.
